BJP to file complaint with CEC on EPIC in Meghalaya

Shillong, Dec 29 (UNI) The BJP, Meghalaya unit, has decided to lodge a formal complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner over the alleged non-inclusion of 'genuine voters' in the state, BJP's national council member Arnab Das today said that they received complaints from several 'genuine voters' that their names were not in the list of the Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC).

He said many voters from Pynthorumkhrah constituency informed that their names were deliberately omitted from the list.

Mr Das said the voters alleged that the electoral registration officers had served notices under section 22 of Representation of the people Act for deletion of names from the electoral rolls.
