Air Chief greets IAF personnel on 2007-eve
New Delhi, Dec 29 (UNI) With ''unprecedented modernisation'' of the Indian Air Force on the anvil, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi today called upon the IAF personnel to ''measure up to the very high expectations'' placed on them by the country.
In a yearend message to all IAF personnel, ACM Tyagi -- observing that the IAF was ''on the threshold of becoming a truly international lethal fighting force'' -- recalled that the Air Warriors had proven their mettle time and again in various international exercises and urged them to now ''believe in ourselves and attain similar competency levels across the board''.
Conveying his best wishes for the coming year to all the members of the IAF family, the Air Chief pointed out that 2006 had been ''remarkable in many respects where we have enhanced our operational capabilities within the ambit of a safe flying environ''.
Further, he said projects like IMMOLS (Integrated Materials Management On Line System) and MAC (Modern Air Defence Ground Environment System Communication Network) would ''need to be exploited to the hilt'' to enable total net-centricity.
