Pondy: Textile mills trade unions hold demo

Puducherry, Dec 28: Members of Swadeshi, Bharathi and Anglo-French Textile Mills trade unions here today observed a fast before the Legislative Assembly to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things the modernisation of the textile mills here and appointments on compassionate grounds.

Meanwhile, the Puducherry State Lecturers Association today observed before the Chief Secretariat demanding 50 per cent reservation in the appointment of high school headmasters and filling up of vacant posts of vice-principals among other things.
