Sonia tells partymen to keep off "personal agenda"

New Delhi, Dec 28 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi has called upon the party workers to set aside their "personal agenda" before going to the people to face the Assembly elections due early next year in some states.

"We must put aside our personal agenda and go to the masses as a cohesive and organised fighting force," she observed in a letter to Congress workers published in the latest issue of the party mouthpiece Congress Sandesh.

"We will be going to the polls in several States early next year. Only a united party and a commitment to the core ideology of the Congress party can bring us victory,'' Mrs Gandhi said.

Stressing the need for strengthening the party base and building a strong and dedicated cadre in each and every state, the Congress President said a strong and united Congress Party would continue to provide that broad base that holds Indian democracy together.
