Sale of correction fluid to minor children banned

Chandigarh, Dec 28 (UNI) The Chandigarh District Magistrate has prohibited the sale of correction fluids to minor children in the union territory for a period of two motnhs.

The order has been issued keeping in view that some minors, specially school going children, are committing crimes after using correction fluid. This white fluid is generally used by typists for making corrections on typed matter.

The order will come into force with effect from tomorrow and remain operative till February 26, 2007.

Offical sources said the recent reports of crimes triggered by its use by juvenile criminals needed to be taken seriously.

The district magistrate has also prohibited carrying fire arms in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Any breach of this order will be punishable under the provision of the Indian Penal Code.
