Saddam Hussain should not be hanged: Athavale

Mumbai, Dec 28 (UNI) Republican Party of India (A) president Ramdas Athavale today said that deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussain should not be hanged.

In a release here, Mr Athavale, said his party was following the principles of Lord Gautam Buddha, who had advocated humanity.

According to these principles, the ousted Iraqi leader should not be hanged.

The Muslim community, at large, will be unhappy if Saddam Hussain was hanged, he added.
