Rashid opens up 6-stroke lead at Sunfeast Golf

Bangalore, Dec 28 (UNI) Delhi's Rashid Khan shot a penultimate round of one-over 72 to leapfrog into a six-stroke lead in the senior Category 'A' of the Sunfeast All India Junior/Sub Junior Golf Championship here today.

Rashid's tournament tally now stands at four over 217 in the final leg of the Sunfeast Junior/Sub-Junior golf tour.

Among others, Udayan Mane submitted a card of 73 to occupy the second place at 223, while Jaipur's Amanjyot Singh shot the day's best score of level par 71 to join Chandigar's Rahul Bakshi in third place at 227.

Bakshi had a poor outing as he managed a round of 77 today.

In Category B, Rommel Mazumdar brought in a card of 79 to lead the field at 230, while Chikkarangappa, who shot 76 today, was further three strokes behind in second place at 233.

Local favourite Khalin Joshi carded an impressive round of 73 to occupy third place at 234 while Raghav Bhandari carded 79 today to finish joint fourth with Kapil Kumar at 239.

In Category 'C', prodigiously talented Virat Badhwar carded an impressive round of 74 to assume sole lead at 228, while overnight joint leader Ashbeer Saini shot 79 to slip to second place at 233.

In category D, local lad Akash Srinivasan shot 79 for the pole position at 163 while Delhi's Vidit Singh who shot a 90 today was a further eight strokes behind the leader at 171.
