PCC celebrates Congress foundation day, Dal Diwas
Hyderabad, Dec 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the Congress belonged the great sacrificers who struggled for the development of the party.
Participating in the Congress foundation and Dal Diwas Day at party's headquarters +Gandhi Bhavan+ here, Dr Reddy said the country had achieved independence due to great services and struggle rendered by the leaders who always worked for the welfare of the people.
He advised the party workers to work for strengthening the party which had 121 years of history and take the party nearer to the people and work in the foot-steps of great leaders to serve the people.
Hoisting the party flag Congress President K Keshava Rao said the Congress party had always worked for the welfare of the people particularly downtrodden. There were two aspects in the party-- dissent and approval. Every leader and worker had the right to express their views in the party as it was the party's principle.
He said the Congress had succeeded in taking the government's welfare programmes to the people, he said, adding the state government had taken up several welfare measures for the people and development of the state.
State Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other party workers were also attended at the function.
