Old woman killed in roof-collapse incident

Akola, Dec 28 (UNI) An aged woman was killed and another girl seriously injured in a roof-collapse incident at nearby Gaigaon village here.

Police said, the deceased, identified as Subhadra Kashiram Mehre (55), was killed when the roof of Ganesh Ginning and Pressing Factory collapsed yesterday. Vandana Chandrabhan Gadade (17), injured in the incident and is under medical supervision.

Mr Vijay Mahavir Kedia, the owner of the factory immediately paid a cash compensation of Rs one lakh to the kin of the deceased.

An offence under section 304 of Indian Penal Code (IPC, culpable homicide not amounting to murder) has been registered against the factory owner.
