Karunanidhi denies Vaiko's claim
Chennai, Dec 28 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today laughed away MDMK General Secretary Vaiko's charge that he had spent about Rs 30 crore to break his party.
Asked about Mr Vaiko's complaint to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that he had spent Rs 30 crore for breaking MDMK, Mr Karunanidhi, amid laughter, said ''if I had Rs 30 crore, I would have bought Vaiko himself.'' He said Mr Vaiko had also complained to the Prime Minister that Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran was behind breaking the party, but he could have cross checked facts before levelling such charges.
It was ten days since Mr Maran had gone to London along with his family members, Mr Karunanidhi added.
