Jharkhand to have'janta durbar' soon
Ranchi, Dec 28 (UNI) The Madhu Koda-led UPA government in Jharkhand will soon introduce 'Janta Durbar' to allow the people to bring their problems to the attention of the administration and seek redressal.
AICC member in-charge of Jharkhand Noor Bano today announced the decision at a press conference adding that as per party high command's wishes, the Chief Minister had been urged to have direct interaction with common people to get first hand account of their grievances.
Though no schedule had been framed yet, the Chief Minister showed interest in the idea and promised to implement it soon, the AICC member said.
Asked about the Congress stand on boards as the party was extending outside support to the Koda government, she said that the party was not averse to accepting chairmanship of these bodies.
Expressing concern over the rampant corruption, she said the state government was asked to strengthen its vigilance cell and keep constant vigil in offices in districts and blocks.
On insurgency, she said the Congress had prepared a report about countering the menace, which would be soon submitted to the state government.
''The Chief Minister could see if these suggestions could be incorporated in the government policy to contain the menace more effectively, ''she said.
On strengthening the party, she said state Congress president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu had been advised to form the bodies at district and block level by March next year.
Asked about random tranfers caused by the Koda govenment, Mr Balmuchu noted a change of guard was required to change the system.
''As the NDA was replaced by the UPA then, what was the logic of retaining the same staff'', he quipped.
