Jasjeet sniffs title at Royal Challenge RCGC Cup

Kolkata, Dec 28 (UNI) Jasjeet Singh is now in hand-shaking distance of the title after a penultimate round of two-under 70 which opened a mammoth 12-stroke lead in the Royal Challenge RCGC Cup here today.

Jasjeet's tournament tally now stands at a whopping 14-under 202 in the ninth leg on the Royal Challenge National Amateur circuit.

Jasjeet started with a birdie on the first but then dropped shots on the third and the sixth to make the turn at one over.

On his return leg, Jasjeet birdied the 11th, dropped a shot on the 13th, but recovered well to fire birdies on the next three holes.

Himmat Rai, on his part, fired a round of one-over 73 to occupy the second place at two-under 214, two strokes ahead of Saurabh Bahuguna who compiled a round of two-over 74 to occupy the third place at 216 while Ranjeet Singh shot 73 for the fourth position with a three-day tally of 217.

It was, however, Raj Randhawa who shot the day's best score of four-under 68 to jump to fifth place at 218. He was tied with Joseph Chakola who shot a level-par 72 today.
