HP medicos threat agitation over increasing of VRS age
Dharamshala, Dec 28 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Medical Officers Association (HMOA) has threatened to launch a statewide agitation if notification regarding increase in the age for voluntary retirement of doctors from 20 to 30 years was not withdrawn immediately.
HMOA spokesman Dr Susheel Sharma said here today that under the Central service rules for all categories of employees, one can seek voluntary retirement after either attaining the age of 45 years or after rendering the services for 20 years but the state government had decided to increase the age limit for VRS from 45 to 55 years and service time from 20 to 30 years for doctors community.
Dr Sharma said that it was not at all acceptable to the community of the doctors and demanded the decision to be revoked.
He said that if the Government failed to withdraw the decision the doctors would launch an agitation and moved the court against the Government order.
