family feud claims two lives

Sambalpur, Dec 28 (UNI) A family dispute claimed two lives while three others injured at Maliatikra under Katarbaga police station, about 50 km from here.

According to the police eight members of a family of Maliatikra village attacked members of another family for providing shelter to one of their brother.

As a result Sanjaya Kissan (35) and his father Prasanna Kissan (55) were killed on the spot while Nilamani Kissan, Giridhari Kissan and Pintu Kissan were severely injured and admitted to the local hospital.

The incident, police said was the outcome of the family dispute over sharing of landed property.

The Police have detained eight people in connection with the incident. A case under section IPC 302 has been registered against all the accused.
