DVAC conducts raid at RTO Offices, 14 brokers arrested
Tiruchirapalli, Dec 28: Sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption (DVAC) wing conducted surprise raids at the Regional Transport Offices (RTO) in Tiruchirapalli and Srirangam, simultaneously this evening following largescale complaints from the public.
According to DVAC sources, special teams under the leadership of DVAC Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rama Ambikapathy raided the offices.
Fourteen brokers were arrested by the DVAC officials and some documents relating to driving licence besides cash to the tune of Rs 15,000 were seized.
The raids were still on, sources added.
