DMRC chief bags Person of the Year Award

Kozhikode, Dec 28 (UNI) Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Managing Director E Sreedharan has been chosen for the 'India Vision Person of the Year Award 2006' for outstanding contribution to public transport system.

Mr Sreedharan, who rendered yeoman service for the cause of the general public, was selected for the award instituted by private satellite channel "India Vision" unanimously, its chairman M K Muneer told reporters here today.

The selection was made by a jury comprising noted writer M T Vasudevan Nair, Justice B Sreedevi and columnist T J S George, he said.

The award carrying a cash prize of Rs one lakh and a citation would be presented to him at a function at Thiruvanthapuram or Kochi later, he added.
