Mumbai, Dec 28 (UNI) Inter bank rates today continued on their northward journey and closed on a one year firm at 12.25-12.75 per cent, compared to it's previous close of 12.00-12.50 per cent, due to an imblance in the demand supply ratio with the former far outnumbering the latter, causing call rates to moved up further, brokers said.

The LAF window had the RBI receive only a solitary bid worth Rs 10 crore at the 1-day reverse repo auction, wherein 70 bids amounting to Rs 36,120 crore were accepted.

At the CBLO segement, 241 bids worth a comparatively lesser amount of Rs 11,639 crore were transacted in the range of 8.00-9.60 per cent.

Due to an impending GOI bond auction in the first half of January, systematic liquidity is expected to come under even more pressure in the near future. As a result, inter bank rates are expected to show an upward bias, brokers added.
