Bhakra Hansi-Butana canal to be complete by Oct next

Chandigarh, Dec 28 (UNI) The work on the 110 km long Bhakra Mainline Hansi-Butana Multi-purpose Link Canal will be completed by October next.

Haryana Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh said 65 per cent of the digging work of the canal and 25 per cent of the lining work had been completed.

The completion of this canal would benefit 16 districts of Haryana and provide the Southern Haryana its due share of water.

The canal would also solve the problem of water logging of Sirsa, Hisar and Fatehabad districts.
