Badal appoints Jaspal Singh as PAC member

Chandigarh, Dec 28 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) President Parkash Singh Badal today appointed Mr Jaspal Singh, a former High Commissioner to Mozambique and Swaziland, as a member of Political Affairs Committee of the party.

Mr Jaspal Singh, an eminent writer, has written many books on Sikh history and published more than 200 articles on Sikh religion and on the issues of national and international politics. He presented many papers on various seminars at national as well as international level.

Mr Singh was honoured with the prestigious award of 'Nashane-e khalsa' at Anandpur Sahib in 1999. He was awarded the best 'Prose writing award' by the Punjabi Academy Delhi and Fellowship by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 1997. He has many other awards to his credit.

Mr Singh, who holds masters degree in Political Science and Ph.D from Punjab University, Chandigarh, taught Political Science for over 22 year in Khalsa College, Delhi. For the last about six years he is working as Principal of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Delhi.

He held the post of General Secretary of the party in the past. In addition, he remained the General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and also as Chairman of Guru Har Kishan Public School, Delhi.
