AP High Court adjourns Margadarshi hearing to Jan 2
Hyderabad, Dec 28 (UNI) The AP High Court today directed the state Advocate General to produce records concerning the appointment of N Rangachari to look into the alleged irregularities committed by Margadarshi Financiers.
The Division bench comprising Chief Justice G S Singhvi and Justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy passed the orders on a writ petion filed by the press baron Ch Ramoji Rao in his capacity as the Karta of a joint Hindu Family running the finance company, before adjourning the next hearing to January 2.
The petitioner said the Ranghchari committee had been appointed by the state government more with a 'vidictive' attitude rather than to unearth any illegalities.
The petitioner alleged the appointement of the Rangachari commiittee was a naked attempt to muzzle the press particularly the Eenadu and ETV group, which had exposed corruption in the execution of irrigation projects in the state.
