A book on humorous Indian cricketing anecdotes released

Mumbai, Dec 28 (UNI) 'Caught&Told - Humourous Cricketing Anecdotes,' a book authored jointly by former India cricketer Sandeep Patil and journalist Clayton Murzello was released by former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Mr Raj Singh Dungarpur here today.

The book includes a century of Indian cricket releated anecdotes from past and present cricketers, who have been pranksters and 'victims' in the world of cricketing humour.

The book has been conceptualised by PROSports, a sports promotion company and has been published by Roli Books.

Among the current stars, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Shewag, Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh have contributed to the book, while coach Greg Chappell has written the foreword.

Speaking on the occasion of the release of the book, Sandeep Patil said, ''We thought that the smile on the lips of the Indian players was missing and therefore we thought it appropriate to bring out such a book which will be enjoyed by one and all.'' Clayton Murzello said that he was inspired by Sandeep Patil and without him this book would not have seen the light of day.

After releasing the book, Mr Dungarpur said that such a book was long overdue and it would go a long way in reliving old memories once again.

Roli Publications are the publishers of the book.
