Two wounded in IED blast near college in Kashmir
Srinagar, Dec 27 (UNI) At least two civilians were wounded when militants triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near a college in Baramulla district of north Kashmir today, police said.
They said militants triggered an IED when an Army vehicle was passing through the Degree College at Khwaja Bagh in Baramulla town at around 1435 hrs.
The sound of the blast unnerved a tractor driver who lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into a tree, wounding two people travelling in it, police added.
The wounded, identified as Mohammad Ishaq and Mohammad Maqbool, have been shifted to a hospital in Baramulla. However, no damage was done to the Army vehicle, police said.
Meanwhile, militants fired upon Irfan Ahmed Tantray at his residence at Devbugh, Kunzar in Baramulla district.
Tantray, a released militant of the Hizbollah outfit, was wounded in his left thigh, police said, adding he has been hospitalised.
