Sugar prices rise due to increase in fresh demand
Mumbai, Dec 27 (UNI) Sugar prices today rose due to increase in fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Sugar in the medium grade rose by Rs 5 per quintal on accont of lesser stock supply.
On the other hand, ex-mill sugar small grade and medium grade hiked by Rs 10 each due to heavy demand from retailers.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,560/1,610, Medium grade: Rs 1,612/1,700 Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,555/1,570 Medium grade: Rs 1,600/1,660 UNI NV WD SKB1548
