Soldier, driver killed in militant ambush in Kashmir
Srinagar, Dec 27 (UNI) A soldier and a Tata Sumo driver were killed and two others wounded when militants ambushed a vehicle carrying Army personnel at Rakh Litter in Pulwama district of south Kashmir last evening, an Army spokesman said today.
The Al Mansoorian militant outfit has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
The spokesman said militants opened heavy fire on a Tata Sumo carrying soldiers at Rakh Litter in Wachi area of Pulwama district.
The driver of the vehicle, Bilal Ahmed, was killed on the spot while two soldiers and a civilian, Mohammad Ramzan, sustained serious injuries in the firing, he added.
The spokesman said one of the soldiers later died in a hospital here. The condition of the other soldier was now stated to be stable, he added.
An Al Mansoorian spokesman called up the offices of the local media here to claim the responsibility for the ambush.
