Neel, Rahul register exciting victories in Champion Sports Trophy

Pune, Dec 27 (UNI) Neel Lopalikar and Rahul Oswal secured hard fought victory over their opponents Tarush Agarwal and Atharv Deshmukh to move into the third round of the boys Under-10 category in the Champion Sports Junior Tennis Trophy (Pune district), being played at the Nav Sahyadri Krida Sankul here today.

In the boys under-10 second round, Ved Bhandare overcame a spirited challenge from Ayush Prabhune to move into the third round of the tournament.

Vimal Dev, Mihir Damle, Indra Patwardhan also recorded easy wins over Krishna Upadhyay, Aditya Gokhale and Koustubh Devkar.

In boys under-12 second round, Sangram Kotwal scored an exciting tie-breaker 6-5 (8-6) win over Akash Bhilare to move into the third round. Abhishek Bendre, Tanmay Vaidya, Rohan Panchal, Nigel Lobo, Shubham Kale, Ashwin Date had easy wins over their opponents to move into the next round.
