Class XII student raped in moving vehicle by 4 DU students

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) A 17-year-old Class XII student was allegedly raped by four Delhi University students in a moving vehicle for more than seven hours after being picked up in Janakpuri area of West Delhi.

Meanwhile, the police today arrested the four accused, all below 20 years of age, after a complaint was made soon after the girl was dropped by them late last night at about 1145 hrs near her Hari Nagar residence, said the police.

The accused, identified as Varun, Kunal, Devendra and Balwinder, were students of the Delhi University.

The victim, a Class XII student of Guru Harkishan Public School, was pulled into a green colour Scorpio by the four accused at about 1630 hrs yesterday while she was standing close to her rickshaw which had broken down in Janakpuri.

The girl, preparing for her MBBS entrance exam, was on her way back home in Hari Nagar from her tuition classes at 'Kathuria Institute' in Janakpuri.

After raping the girl for over seven hours, the accused left her at about midnight next to her house soon after which the matter was reported to the police.

Sources also said that one of the boys -- Devender -- reportedly knew the girl.

The father of the victim is a professor in a college in Amritsar while her mother works at the Safdarjung Airport in Delhi.
