Andhra beat Kerala in South Zone Hockey Championship

Kannur, Dec 27 (UNI) Andhra defeated Kerala 2-1 in the South Zone Hockey Championship here today.

Both the teams did not score in the first half. In the second half, R Suresh Kumar of Kerala scored the first goal in the 36th minute through a penalty corner.

Abdul Aseem equalised for Andhra in the 59th minute. In the 67th minute, M Ajay Babu converted a penalty corner for Andhra.

In another match, Puducherry and Hyderabad drew 1-1. In the first half, Satyanarayanan scored for Hyderabad. Puducherry captain K P Jayees equalised in the second half.

Tamil Nadu will take on Hyderabad and Karnataka will play Andhra tomorrow.
