Tens of thousands witness 'Deeparadhana' at Sabarimala

Pathanamthitta, Dec 26 (UNI) The 'Deeparadhana,' after adorning the Ayyappa idol with 'Thanka Anki' (golden attire) brought in a procession from Aranmula Parthasarathi temple was held at the Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala today.

Tens of thousands of devotees thronged 'Sannidhanam' to witness 'Deeparadhana.' Travancore Devaswom Board authorities received the 'Anki' at Saramkuthi and took it in a procession to 'Sannidhanam.' Tantri Kantararu Rajeevaru and Melsanthi Easwaran Namboodiri took over the golden attire and went into the sanctum sanctorum.

After adorning Ayyappa idol with the 'Anki,' 'Deeparadhana' was performed.

'Mandala Pooja' will be performed at the temple at 1230 hrs tomorrow. The Ayyappa idol will be decorated with the 'Anki' on the occasion.
