Saints rushed to hospital in Allahabad
Allahabad, Dec 26 (UNI) The Allahabad police forcibly rushed to hospital the saints, including Akhil Bhartiya Khaddarshan Akhara Parishad 'mahant' Dharam Das, who were sitting on an indefinite fast in front of the office of Ardh Kumbh Mela officer.
The saints were protesting the refusal of the allotment of land in the Mela area since last five days.
The police reached the spot and forcibly rushed the saints to SRN hospital.
The saints, who entered into a minor scuffle with the police late last night, have alleged that they were forcibly picked up by the police on the instruction of the Mela officers.
Mahant Dharam Das has alleged instead of alloting land to his akhara, the Mela authorities alloted it to some other akhara. The Mela officer Pragyan Ram Mishra, however, rubbished the allegation, saying ''the land has already been alloted to his akhara and the mahant should acquire his share from there. The Mela administration is ready to allot land in other sectors but the saint is adamant and not ready to take the possession of land in any other Mela area.'' This year, the Mela administration has received 1,600 new applications for the allotment of land and has already completed its distribution to traditional akharas and saints. The Mela administration has even refused to oblige yog guru Swami Ram Dev.
However, Swami Ram Dev is organising a 6 day 'Yoga Training Camp' in the camp of another Hardwar saint.
