Notification to be issued for recruiting 8,000 teachers
Mysore, Dec 26 (UNI) Commissioner of Public Instructions M Madangopal today announced that the department would issue a notification within the next 15 days for filling up 8,000 vacant primary school teachers posts in Government schools in Karnataka.
Inaugurating a 30-day training camp for police sub-inspectors entrance exam, organised by Jnanabuthi here, he said this was the third phase of the current recruitment drive following the clearance given by the State Government to fill up 20,000 vacancies in teaching posts. The provisional list of 6,000 primary school teachers had been notified and appointment orders for the selected candidates would be issued within a week.
He said the department had brought to the Government's notice that 8,000 to 9,000 teaching posts fall vacant in Government schools annually and the irregular filling up of these posts was affecting the quality of education in schools, both in urban and rural areas.
Hence, the department had sought an one-time clearance from the Government for filling up these vacancies as and when they occur over the next five years, he added.
