Mumbaikars to go without water tomorrow
Mumbai, Dec 26: For the first time in its history, taps all over the city will go dry for an entire day beginning 1000 hrs Wednesday.
This was being done to connect the Mumbai III-A water supply project to the mainstream water supply of the metropolis thus help improve the water situation here, a release here today said.
It said the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (M C G M) had taken up a major work of isolation for connecting the new water supply system created under Mumbai III-A project to the existing water supply network.
Owing to the isolation work, water supply to the city and suburbs will have to be stopped between 1000 hrs on December 27 to 1000 hrs on December 28. And there shall be no water supply during this period, the release added.
The BMC has appealed citizens to co-operate and store enough water in advance to minimise inconvenience.
