Mulayam avoids comment on Kavita case

Ratlam, MP, Dec 26 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today dodged questions on the turmoil in his state's politics in the wake of the murder of the Meerut-based Chaudhry Charan Singh University's Lecturer Kavita Rani.

Mr Yadav was here en route to Bamnia for taking part in a programme in memory of renowned socialist leader Mama Baleshwar Dayal. The chief minister left the place soon after a volley of Rani-linked questions were posed to him.

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Food-Processing Babulal, a Rashtriya Lok Dal member, submitted his resignation today to party President Ajit Singh after his name was linked in the case. Dal leader and former minister Mirajuddin also quit the party and its executive yesterday.
