Major fire breaks out at Imphal market

Imphal, Dec 26 (UNI) A major fire broke out tonight at Thangal bazar here, reducing to ashes some shops.

Official sources said fire tenders, which had been pressed into service, were fighting hard to douse the blaze and rescue those trapped.

The reason of the fire was yet to be ascertained.

The quantum of damage was yet to be estimated.
