Koda says as an independent his job is tougher to run coalition govt

Ranchi, Dec 26 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today completed 100 days in office and said it was doubly difficult for him to run a coalition government being an independent MLA.

Mr Koda said people were giving fractured mandate time and again and leaders dedicated for the cause of public should work with 'bilkul imandari' (total honesty) to deliver goods.

'' It is not fair to impose elections on the people on the pretext of no clear mandate,'' said the Chief Minister at a press conference at his official residence on the occasion of the UPA government's completing 100 days today.

Referring to inner squabbles of the ruling allies, Mr Koda said whether it was majority or minority government, '' you cannot satisfy everybody at the same time''.

So at this ''critical'' situation public leaders would have to work with honesty.

'' And as an Independent MLA my job was more difficult to ensure stability'', he said adding ''the slightest mistake'' could derail it in no time.

As he unleased the list of achievements made by the UPA government, he made a scathing attack on the erstwhile Arjun Munda government saying his predecessor could spend only 23 per cent of the total fund allocated.

'' I have got the liability to complete the unfinished programmes left by Mr Munda besides the mission to implement my commitment made to the state''.
