International conf on spinal injury

Indore, Dec 26 (UNI) A three-day international conference on spine and spinal injuries will be held here from February 23 under the auspices of International Spinal Cord Society.

About 300 world renowned spinal surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, urologists, physiotherapists, social workers and hospital administrators will participate in it, Organising Committee Chairman Dr Prakash Bangani and Secretary Dr D K Taneja told mediapersons here today.

Dr T K Shanughasundaram, former president of Indian orthopaedic association, will deliver prestigious ''Ludwig Guttmann oration''in the conference, in which best published paper on spine, best poster presentation and best paper presentation will be awarded.

Four workshops will be organized at a local Hospital on fixation of spine and bladder management. A few live spine surgeries will be demonstrated in the workshop.

Dr Bangani said a special workshop on hydrotherapy will also be held during the conference.
