Haryana releases Rs 50 crore for PRIs
Chandigarh, Dec 26 (UNI) The Haryana government has released a sum of Rs 50 crore to strengthen the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in the state, Haryana Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharmbir Singh said today.
He said the state government had also decided to award the Panchayats which had worked best for the overall development of the villages.
The Panchayat, which would stand first, second and third at state level would be given a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh, Rs 15 lakh, and Rs 10 lakh respectively.
He said those panchayats would also be rewarded which had ensured 100 per cent payment of the outstanding electricity bills in there villages and also ensured complete cleanliness and toilet in each house.
He said the third state finance commission had been constituted to improve the financial health of the Panchayati Raj Institutions.
