Four dead in road accidents in Haryana
Karnal, Dec 26 (UNI) Three persons, including an eight-year-old girl died when the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding truck near Manglora bridge about 10 km from here, police said today.
The deceased Jagir Singh of Siwan village, his son-in-law Sultan Singh and eight-year-old grand-daughter Harmandeep Kaur were going towards their village Takhana last night when the accident took place.
The trio died on the spot. The truck driver is yet to be arrested.
The bodies have been handed over to the relatives after a postmortem, the police said.
In another accident, Reshma, wife of Srichand and a resident of Karnan Vihar, Karnal, died when the car in which she was travelling along with her son Praveen fell into the augmentation canal near Pucca Pul Madhuban police complex here today.
Both were rescued from the canal. However, doctors at the civil hospital declared Reshma dead on arrival. Praveen's condition is stated to be stable.
The mother and son were going to Panipat when the accident took place while negotiating a turn. The six rescuers have been awarded with a cash prize of Rs 2000 each, SP Sibas Kaviraj said.
