BJP demands CBI probe into recovery of RDX in Jalandhar
Jalandhar, Dec 26 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today demanded probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the recovery of RDX, arms and ammunition from three persons here.
Talking to reporters here today, party General Secretary Arun Jaitley said although he had no details of investigations in the case, the matter needed fair probe.
Reacting on allegation of SAD president and former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's role in the case, being levelled by rival Akali group Shiromani Akali Dal (1920), Mr Jaitley said if CBI probe was ordered in the case, he was sure that Mr Badal will emerge, not a conspirator, but a target in this case.
He, however, did not elaborate his point and said the issue would be discussed at his meetings with BJP and SAD leaders tomorrow.
Meanwhile, SAD (1920) reiterated the case filed against an NRI and Akal Takhat former Jathedar Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode's two relatives regarding the recovery of RDX and arms and ammunition was fake and the party would seek Punjab Governor Gen (retd) S F Rodrigues intervention for free and fair probe in the case.
SAD (1920) president and former Punjab Speaker Ravi Inder Singh said the case was based on fake recovery and his party would explore and avail all legal recourses to seek justice.
