50 vocational teachers held

Chennai, Dec 26 (UNI) About 50 teachers, including six women belonging to Tamil Nadu Unrecognised Vocational Teachers Association were taken into custody by the police today.

They were held when they attempted to commence an indefinite fast without police permission before the Directorate of School Education here.

The teachers were demanding among other things, fixation of basic pay for them, police said.
