Pawar stresses need to encourage biotechnology education

Kolhapur, Dec 25 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today underlined the need to encourage biotechnology education.

Mr Pawar was speaking at a function to unveil the statue of eminent educationist Bapuji Salunkhe at the Shivaji University here today.

Mr Pawar also stressed the need to encourage merit-based education in order to empower the students for the development of the nation.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil were also present at the function.
