NRI Sikh outfits threaten to take Dhaddi's case to UN
Jalandhar, Dec 25 (UNI) Representatives of the UK based Sikh outfits -- Punja Sahib Gurdham Yatra Committee, Nankana Sahib Yatra Committee and Guru Nanak Sahara Trust -- have alleged that the Punjab Police has implicated UK based NRI Paramjit Singh Dhaddi in a fabricated case and threatened to take his case to the United Nations Organisation(UNO).
Talking to reporters here today, Punjab Sahib Yatra Committee chief Kewal Singh Tur and Nankana Sahib Yatra Committee's Raghubir Singh Maladi said the police had implicated Dhaddi and two others in fabricated cases based on the "fake" recovery of RDX and other arms and ammunitions.
They said Dhaddi was not associated with any terrorist activity or outfit and had been doing good work in socio religious arena among NRI Sikhs in the UK.
They said they would also seek intervention of the British Government for defending Dhaddi, who is a British citizen.
The police had yesterday claimed to have busted a module, allegedly trying to revive terrorist and disruptive activities in Punjab during the forthcoming assembly elections. The police had arrested three members of the ''reactivated international Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF-Rode Group)'' and recovered a huge cache of explosives and ammunition including 11 Kg RDX.
