Industrialists demand development of road to Baddi
Chandigarh, Dec 25 (UNI) About 20,000 vehicles per day ply on the Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh road, but despite repeated reminders by the industrialists of the area, neither the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) nor the Haryana government have paid any attention to the widening or repair of this road.
The industrialists and residents of this belt, falling both in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, have on a number of occasions approached the Chandigarh office of the Ministry of Roads and Surface Ministry.
''We only got assurances, nothing happened on ground'', Mr Deepak Bhandari, Sr Vice President, Baddi, Barotiwala, Nalagarh (BBN) Industries Association said here today. He pointed out that the development of this road was important for the movement of their industrial goods from Baddi and Barotiwala, which had become important industrial areas of Himachal.
Mr Bhandari pointed out that the area from Pinjore to Baddi falls under the constituency of Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan. Most of the commuters on this road are residents of Pinjore and Panchkula and even Chandigarh, working in the industrial units, he added.
The industries delegation was given to understand that though the work had been allotted but it was not being expedited by the contractor, he added.
