DMK takes exception to Vaiko's remarks against CM
Chennai, Dec 25 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister Arcot N Veerasamy today said legal action would be taken against MDMK General Secretary Vaiko for blaming DMK President and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for the differences of opinion among the MDMK top brass.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Veerasamy said legal action would also be initiated against a newspaper for publishing the report.
He described as a blatant lie Mr Vaiko's charge that Mr Karunanidhi was hatching a conspiracy to break the MDMK by letting loose hooliganism in connivance with the police. 'It is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of Mr Karunanidhi', he said.
It may be noted that the crisis in the MDMK deepened with the party stripping rebel leaders L Ganesan and Gingee N Ramachandran of their posts after they raised a banner of revolt against Mr Vaiko.
The action by Mr Vaiko was aimed at prempting the rebel leaders from attending the party's high-level committee meeting today.
