5 members of drug and rob gang arrested

Lucknow, Dec 25 (UNI) Five members of the drug and rob (Zeherkhurani) gang, including their kingpin, were arrested in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh early today.

A large number of sedatives were recovered from their possession.

Police said acting on a tip-off, cops reached the Gorakhpur Railway Station and nabbed the miscreants, identified as gang head Ram Naresh Maurya, Safikul Hassan, Aftab Alam, Shibban Gupta and Prabhu Dayal Chauhan.

Posing as college students, the miscreants used to drug and rob passengers of their valuables aboard several trains, police added.

A case was registered.
