40 injured as bus hits tree

Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, Dec 24 (UNI) At least 40 people were injured, some of them seriously, when a passenger bus carrying them hit a roadside tree near Piyalee bridge on Mumbai-Goa Highway today.

The accident occurred when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a road side tree. The bus was proceeding to wards Goa from Tardeo in South Mumbai, police sources said.

The injured have been admitted to various hospitals at Oras, Kudal, Kankavali and Goa, sources added.
