Woman hockey player attempts suicide

Jammu, Dec 24 (UNI) National woman hockey player Renu Singh attempted suicide by jumping off the Tawi bridge here, police said today.

Reportedly depressed after her documents were destroyed in a fire, seventeen-year-old Renu jumped off the bridge at around 1615 hrs yesterday.

Police immediately swung into action fished her out in unconcious state. She was taken to the hospital and she survived.

A case under section 309 RPC has been registered against Renu.
