TN Film Exhibitors Association thanks CM

Chennai, Dec 24 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association while accepting the state government's decision to reduce the tickets fare, thanked Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in this regard.

A release from the association today said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the annual general body meeting of the association held here yesterday.

The body appealed the Tamil Nadu Government to permit them to enhance and change the ticket fares from time to time, as per distributors' rate for big and small budget movies, within the government permitted guidelines on cinema ticket fare.

It was also decided hereafter not to give the minimum guarantee or the fixed hire to the distributors and to screen the big budget films on 60 per cent term basis and the small budget films on 50 to 55 per cent term basis.

The meeting also decided not to cooperate with the popular film director S A Chandrasekaran and his actor son Vijay as conciliation talks between them and the association, in connection with the huge loss incurred by the exhibitors on their Tamil Film ''Athi'', failed, the release added.
