Three years' RI for doctor
Ujjain, MP, Dec 24 (UNI) A special court has sentenced a doctor to three years' rigorous imprisonment and fined him Rs 10,000 in a disproportionate assets case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
According to prosecution, on the basis of a complaint by one Tejram, police had arrested district hospital assistant surgeon Radhey Shyam for accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 on January 25, 2002.
During investigation, it was found that Dr Radhey Shyam had accumulated Rs 14 lakh more than his income between 1981 to 2002 while holding a government post.
Special Judge Shyamlal Kulkarni delivered the verdict yesterday.
