Three die in road accident

Shillong, Dec 24 (UNI) Three persons were killed when two trucks collided head-on at Meghalaya's Sohryngkham village yesterday.

The accident occurred on NH 40 when a speeding coal-laden truck, proceeding towards Guwahati from Jaintia Hills district, collided with another truck coming from Guwahati near Sohryngkham Public Health Centre, killing three people on the spot, police said.

Police said, the deceased were identified as Joylan and Rajkumar Burman from West Bengal and Shiv Shankar Singh from Bihar. The other injured persons were rushed to city civil hospital.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the cause of the road mishap.
