TDP respects Telangana sentiments
Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 24 (UNI) The Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Senior Leader T Devendar Goud today said the party would respect the sentiment and ambitions of Telangana people.
Speaking to newsmen after offering worship at Laxminarasimha Swami Temple at Yadagirigutta, Mr Goud said the TDP was analysing the political developments in the aftermath of the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President's K Chandrasekhara Rao victory in the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat with thumping majority in the recently held bypoll.
The TDP, which was against seperate Telangana and support united Andhra, would take a decision on the issue after consulting party leaders and politbureau.
Alleging the Congress Government had failed to complete the pending irrigation projects in the state and providing sufficient water and power to the farmers, Mr Goud said the TDP would organise dharnas in front of all power sub-stations on December 27 and 28 demanding that the government supply nine-hour uninterrupted power supply to farmers in the state.
He alleged the government created 'artificial power shortage' in the state.
The TDP leaders belonging to the Telangana region, including K Srihari and Y Dayakara Rao, also offered worhsip at the temple and discussed the issue with Mr Goud.
